Glossary
Definitions for Mogplex product terms such as agents, runs, projects, installations, triggers, assignments, automations, sandboxes, and observability.
Use this page when a Mogplex page names a product object and you need the short version before reading the full guide or reference page.
Account state
Shared state attached to the signed-in Mogplex account.
Account state includes GitHub identity, GitHub App coverage, Slack installs, access tokens, managed model access, shared connections, and MCP definitions. Start with Settings when account state looks wrong.
Agent
A reusable worker definition.
Agents have a name, description, category, model choice, prompt, and sometimes a mention slug. Agents can be built-in presets, owned custom agents, or forks of presets you have customized.

Agent slug
The durable handle used for targeted GitHub mention routing.
Example:
@mogplex/triageThe slug is not the same as the display name. If a route depends on targeted mentions, use the slug in the GitHub comment.

Assignment
A repo-owned standing work rule.
Assignments bind one repo, one agent, and one assignment type, such as PR review, issue triage, CI failure, cron, or cron refactor. Use Assignments when the repo is the durable unit of responsibility.

Automation
A workflow graph for GitHub-triggered work.
Automations start from one GitHub event, then move through nodes such as agent steps, conditions, parallel splits, joins, and delays. Draft edits do not become live routing until the automation is published.

Connection
A configured external service or credential path that an agent or hosted run can use.
Connection behavior can depend on account state, repo state, and route-specific overrides. If a run cannot call an external service, start with Settings, Connections and MCP, and Connection Scope and Overrides.
Custom slash command
A markdown prompt template that becomes a named command in the CLI composer.
Commands can be project-scoped under .agents/commands, user-scoped under the
Mogplex home commands directory, or built in. Project commands override user
commands, and user commands override builtins.

GitHub App coverage
The state that lets Mogplex receive webhook-backed GitHub events for a user or organization.
OAuth visibility can make repos visible in the app, but GitHub App coverage is what makes hosted routing healthy for Triggers and Automations. If a repo is visible but events do not start work, check App coverage first.

Headless run
A run started from scripts, CI, or shell commands instead of the interactive CLI cockpit.
Headless runs use mogplex run and mogplex runs ... commands and wrap the
hosted runs API.

Installation
A GitHub App installation for a GitHub user or organization.
Installations are the coverage layer for webhook-backed work. Triggers and Automations are installation-scoped. Assignments are repo-scoped but still depend on the repo being imported and covered correctly.

MCP
Model Context Protocol configuration for connecting agents and clients to external tools.
Mogplex currently documents MCP through the extension path and API surface: inbound configuration, configured MCP server definitions, and the planned outbound Mogplex MCP server path.

Model catalog
The model list available to an account and exposed to agents, model pickers, the CLI, and API surfaces.
Use Available Models for user-facing model availability. Use API Models for API behavior.
Observability
The runtime inspection surface for runs, model calls, tool calls, sandbox activity, token usage, estimated cost, pressure, and errors.
Use Observability after a route or run actually starts. If no run exists, debug the source surface first.

Project
The web-app surface where imported repos become workspaces for hosted work.
Projects are where repo setup, sync state, sandbox launch, and hosted work entrypoints come together. The docs also link this area as Projects, matching the current route.

Repo visibility
Whether Mogplex can see a repo through account sync.
Visibility is not the same as triggerability. A repo can be visible through OAuth but still unable to start hosted GitHub-event work until the owning user or organization has GitHub App coverage.

Repo instructions
Durable local guidance stored in AGENTS.md, AGENTS.override.md, and
occasionally agent.json.
Use repo instructions for project purpose, commands, conventions, and verification rules that should shape many runs. Keep one-off task detail in the current prompt.

Run
One execution of Mogplex work.
Runs can start from the CLI, headless commands, the hosted API, Triggers, Assignments, Automations, Slack, or GitHub events. Use run IDs when inspecting status, tailing events, exporting local state, or asking someone else to debug a failure.

Sandbox
An isolated runtime or preview workspace associated with hosted work.
Use Sandboxes to inspect live and pending preview runtimes, pinned workspaces, and stale sandbox cleanup paths. Use Vercel docs when sandbox behavior depends on repo-linked project metadata or environment sync.

Slack channel link
A mapping from one Slack channel to one Mogplex repo.
When a channel is linked, a real instruction after @mogplex starts a
repo-agent run for that repo. Unlinked channels and DMs stay conversational.

Skill
A reusable capability or workflow package that helps shape agent behavior.

Trigger
The lightest hosted routing surface.
Triggers bind one GitHub App installation, one event type, and one agent. Use Triggers when the route is simply one event to one agent.

Triggerability
Whether a visible repo can actually start hosted GitHub-event work.
Triggerability requires the right GitHub App coverage. If a repo appears in Projects but Triggers or Automations do not fire, debug triggerability before changing the agent.

Working request
The API and runtime shape used to represent work that should be started, tracked, or inspected.
Use the hosted API pages when another system needs to create or inspect work programmatically.
