# Neon (/integrations/neon)





Connect Neon to let agents create database branches for a change, inspect
schemas, run SQL, and prepare migrations.

## Connect [#connect]

1. In Neon, create an API key under
   [**Account settings → API keys**](https://console.neon.tech/app/settings/api-keys).
   The preset's **Get a token** link opens this page.
2. In Mogplex, open **Connections → Integrations**.
3. Under **Quick Add — MCP Presets**, select **+ Add** on **Neon**.
4. Paste the key, then select **Add**.
5. Test the saved connection and confirm that it lists tools.

  A Neon API key can manage and delete projects the account owns. Prefer an
  organization key with limited reach, scope the connection to the repos that
  need it, and consider **Ask before running tools**.

* "Create a Neon branch from `main`, apply the migration in this PR to it, and
  report any errors."
* "Explain why this query on the `events` table is slow and suggest an index."

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

| Symptom                       | Check                                                            |
| ----------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Test fails with an auth error | The key was revoked. Create a new key and update the connection. |
| Agent cannot see a project    | The key belongs to a different account or organization.          |
