# Linear (/integrations/linear)



Connect Linear to let agents read the issue they are working on, search related
issues, and update issues, projects, and comments as the work moves.

## Connect [#connect]

1. In Linear, create a personal API key. See
   [Linear MCP](https://linear.app/docs/mcp).
2. In Mogplex, open **Connections → Integrations**.
3. Under **Quick Add — MCP Presets**, select **+ Add** on **Linear**.
4. Paste the key, then select **Add**.
5. Test the saved connection and confirm that it lists tools.

Agents act as the Linear user who owns the key. Use a key from an account whose
access matches what agents should be able to change.

## Use it [#use-it]

* "Read LIN-482, implement the fix, and open a PR that links the issue."
* "List open bugs in the Platform project and summarize which ones touch the
  billing code."
* In an [automation](/web/automations), give an agent node an instruction to
  comment on the Linear issue when the PR opens.

## What it does not do [#what-it-does-not-do]

Linear is a tool connection only. Mogplex does not receive Linear webhooks, so
Linear events cannot start runs. Start work from GitHub, Slack, a schedule, a
[signed webhook](/integrations/webhooks), or the [API](/reference/api).

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

| Symptom                                      | Check                                                                                                                              |
| -------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Test fails with an auth error                | The key was revoked or copied incompletely. Create a new key and update the connection.                                            |
| Tools are missing in one repo                | The connection may be excluded from that repo. See [scope resolution](/configure-and-extend/connections-and-mcp#scope-resolution). |
| Tools are missing in workspace chat or Slack | The connection is set to **Ask before running tools**. Those surfaces cannot ask, so use Control.                                  |
